Bye-bye BlogBridge, bonjour RSSOwl !
Posted by Olivier under Babasse, Internet, Logiciels libres

Sorry to hear you decided to give up on BlogBridge! My French is terrible so I can’t understand enough of your post to see the reasons, but it would be super valuable to us to hear them so we can further improve BlogBridge and get you back to us! Would you mind dropping me an email? Also, just out of curiosity are you located in France, Canada or somewhere else?
Merci!

Hi Pito,
You left a comment on my French-speaking blog (http://www.fontenelle.org/olivier/archives/2005/10/29/bye-bye-blogbridge-bonjour-rssowl/) last week asking for an email, so ere it is
Basically I’m giving up BlogBridge because it is soooooo slow to update the display. For instance when you minimize it and re-open it a few minutes later, it takes at least more than 30 seconds to repaint the screen — I find that impossible to work with! On the other hand, RSSOwl never behaves like that (as most other apps). I was using BlogBridge 2.0 on Windows.
The other things that could be enhanced: - the synchronization service uses a non-standard port (8080?) which is usually filterd by firewalls - no keyboard shortcuts for useful actions (mark as read, mark all read…)
I’ve seen that you have released the version 2.7, I’m going to give it a try!
Regards, – Olivier
PS I’m in France, in the suburbs of Paris.
